You learn something new every day.
@ 2007-05-14 - 11:15:38I would have learned it 2 days ago, but John didn't know my answer to the question.
Me: "What are creps?"
John: "Misspelt crisps?"
Wes has just enlightened me. Creps are, in fact, shoes.
Went to church yesterday and decided to have a hysterical fit. This was probably a good thing, as it meant a girl in church came and prayed for me, and gave me some good advice. While we were praying, she quoted the bit in Zephaniah which says that God delights in His people. She's the second person to think God wants me to hear that. I take the hint
Wonderful. I think I am going to stay in that church, although it's God I should be thankful for, rather than the church!
I have to go and do some revision in a minute. Have three exams this week. Need to buy my ticket for the Summer Ball on Friday. Had really better start getting on with it! I think the fact that, thanks to Ros, I do now regularly get up before midday will be instrumental in helping me past this semester! Hope everyone on here is well.
Btw - the T team finished fifth. HOW, WHY? I can't believe Chelsea got gifted a goal to maintain their unbeaten home record and make sure the T team finished fifth. I didn't know those two were in cahoots! I thought they hated each other, and I don't want to get either Tottenhamitis or Chelseaitis, thank you very much!
AFC Totton lost the FA Vase final to Truro. This was annoying, as Totton is near Southampton. There is an ASDA there. You shouldn't by ham there, for obvious reasons. Mum said the local news subtitles decided to call them T*tt*nh*m. Ironic, as Cazza used to think the T team came from Totton!
God bless, Jenni xx

Ooh...where is this church? I like the sound of it!

It's Wesley Chapel in Central London, near Liverpool Street. Do you wanna come there with me next Sunday?
God bless xx

I'm sidespersoning in St James, next Sunday.
If I can find whereabouts it is, I might head over there sometime over the summer.
Btw. See the irony of talking online, when we are sitting next to each other?

It's a bit difficult to find, but I'm sure there's a website and I'm sure it's in the A-Z, although John says the A-Z gives you a really complicated way of getting there! I think I can find it now. I was trying to work the route out with John yesterday!
I know, we're sad... It's a good way of sharing stuff like websites and news stories though. You don't have to crick your neck trying to see my monitor!
God bless xx

It's the amazing thing about the internet; brings people together, even if they are in the same room!

I think God should be glad of you and people like you Jen, after all if nobody believed in him he would not exist.
Would you believe me and Zephaniah started out as performers about the same time, I was first to use a beatbox but he was signed by a record company (the rasta thing was very popular at the time) and they put a band behind him which made me look a bit crappy. Anyway I was making too much money as a computer consultant at the time to throw it all in and be a full time performance poet.
Crepes are shoes as in crepes and drapes, the classic teddy boy garb. Creps (phonetic spelling) are French pancakes. Classic joke, Teddy boy shows his mate his new crepe soled footwear.
"D'yer like me new shoes?" he asks, "the bloke in the shop said they were crepe but I think they're smart."
Teddy boy: (you're only 24, I forgot) 1950s fashion cult for men, Teds wore drainpipe trousers, drape jackets (three quarter length) and crepe soled shoes or winkle pickers (pointed toes) High hair combed into elaborate quiffs was de rigeur.
There, history, poetry and religious philosophy in one comment. Not bad eh?

Wow, I do like your deep comments!
Sorry it took me so long to reply to this one. I like Linton Kwesi Johnson. Why are a load of London chavs going on about crepes all of a sudden then?!
God bless xx

Probly coz some fashion designer though nobody could be as old as me and not have alzheimer's so it was time to revive them.
Fashion designers are too thick to know us oldies in our decrepitude (decrepeitude?) can remember way back but not what we said a minute ago.
Why am I telling you that? Why are we talking about French pancakes?
I had the most wonderful crepes suzette in a little creperie in San Malo in 1967.
Young people today have no respect, they should bring bacvk national service.
I'm a hundred and ninety tweo you know.
Just though you could use a giggle ;-)

You provided a giggle and I'm very grateful![]()
I do like the sound of those crepes. I like trying new foods. That, to me, is the only point of advertising: providing information about stuff I haven't eaten yet!
Stan's grandad in South Park was 102 and kept chasing Death trying to get killed.
God bless xx
