How hard can it be to get a new phone? This hard:

I went into Carphone Warehouse and described the phone I was looking for, but the man there didn't know what I meant and could only offer really expensive ones.

The next shop knew what I wanted but didn't have one, although they were humble enough to recommend competitors.

The recommended shop didn't have one because they had been selling them for £15 before Christmas! They sent me back to the first shop, where I went, armed with my new knowledge that what I really wanted was a 3220. The man now knew what I meant, but didn't have one, and was surprised that no-one had offered to order it for me. But he couldn't, as he hadn't seen one in 4 months.

I spied an Orange shop and thought "Why not?", since Caroline says they're good and Becky's on it. They had my phone on Pay As You Go, but for £39.99 plus minimum top-up of £20! I said "Well, that's a bit awful, because I bought it for less than £30 a year ago (well I think it was that cheap... sure it was about £23.99 or something but can't really remember) and Phones4U was selling them for £15!" The man said it was all he could offer me. I said I'd think about it, which I'm going to have to.

I had given up and was on my way home looking for a coffee and a cake. Realised the shop I was looking in didn't sell those because it was called "Mobile Phone Centre". I went in. The man said he could sell me the handset only cheaply, but otherwise it would be cheaper in town.

Now I feel stupid, because on the phone this morning, the O2 lady offered to send me a replacement sim card, and I said no, thinking I was getting a new phone today! Not sure whether to ring them and change my mind. Just saw Wesley who told me to go to Wood Green and try and get a phone, as there are loads, and Dan suggested eBay. Either way, it looks like I won't have a new number for a while. Sorry. I did try every shop in Enfield Town except 3 (expensive and rubbish) and SonyCentre (can't work their phones)!

The annoying thing is, having had my card nicked as well, I can't shop online!

Has anyone got an old phone I can buy off them? Seems easier. If you'll sell for £25 or less, it'll probably be cheaper for me!

Just saw Bob again: talking about how many of us are going to the match tomorrow night. Tried to convince him to go to Half Time afterwards, but he says he has to get up in the morning! Wasn't convinced by my protest that I have to play football at 12 on Thurs!
